Hi ArCS Supporters, One of our guests, a High School senior, is looking for a paid office internship for the rest of the summer. Namdar (not his real name) was an 8 year old kid in Afghanistan, minding his own business, when an allied soldier (someone from *our side*) shot him in the chest for no reason. It was a devastating wound that would have killed most people, but Namdar hung in there and after years (literally) of hospitalization, he is attending Cambridge Rindge and Latin and moving into adulthood. He got a good summer job but it had public exposure. His immune system is vulnerable and he was told by his doctors he needed to leave it. *Namdar has no one to pull strings for him.* He has no local family who could call friends to find a job for him - so I am asking you. In his own words, he is looking for *"Anything in an office environment or anything else so long as it doesn't require standing on my feet for the entire day and picking up heavy stuff." *Also, it needs to be T-accessible. I have known Namdar for years. He is mature way beyond his age. He is smart, funny, hardworking, speaks English fluently (as well as Pashto and Dari) and likes country music. If your office has any paid opportunities that could work for this amazing kid over the next 6 weeks, or if you have any questions, please get in touch with me.
