Hey, Susan!

Three of my friends got mini splits this year, in Lexington, Arlington, and
Seattle. Each one of them paid between $4000 and $5000 per room.

Mass Save rebates for mini splits fall under heat pumps, which you can find out
about here. They’re based on “tons”, so it would depend on how big a system you
get. The tonnage of a given system is something that any contractor should be
able to tell you as part of the quote. You can also get a HEAT loan: Up to
$20,000 with no interest. I got mine at my local credit union (HFCU). I think
the rebates are only if you’re replacing (or maybe augmenting?) a less
efficient system. Someone else on the list might know more than I do about
those details.

We’ve had a great experience with Advanced Mechanical Systems, who’ve been
recommended on Lincoln Talk before. We have a service contract with them, and
they’re knowledgeable, thoughtful, and responsive. I also love that they send
you a text when their technician is on the way, and you can follow their
progress to your house on a map! I’m never surprised when they show up. If you
call them (978) 897-0080), let them know I sent you!
