Dear Lincoln Talk, Since the draught, I have been keeping a white plastic tub in my shower to collect some of the excess water to hydrate my plants. The other day I noticed a blue hue in the tub. I had also noticed a blue hue building up on the porcelain in my bathroom sink for the last few weeks. I had previously thought it was a product I was using, but now I realize it is coming from the water. I searched "blue tint in my water" on google and came across many claims that this can be caused by aging copper pipes or poorly installed new copper pipes. I had new copper pipes installed two years ago, but had fired the company after several disappointments. I would not be surprised if they did a poor job installing the pipes.
When I called the plumber and the town water department, they had never heard of such a thing. Have any of you experienced and/or remedied such a thing? Thank you in advance!
