Dear High School Student --
If you are a Junior or Senior in high school and need to do regular
community service hours for school (or just for fun), the Friends of the
Lincoln Library has an ongoing project that takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours
per week of volunteer time.
The project involves helping with the used book sale carts in the
Lincoln Library. You need to be able to make a weekly visit to the
Transfer Station (hopefully each Saturday afternoon), select used books
from the book shed there, bring the books to the Library, process them
and put price tags in them, and place them on the lobby carts for sale.
I think the work is fun and interesting and it certainly is a help to
the Library. Revenue raised from our used book cart sales pay for
programs, materials, museum passes, etc. at the Library -- these are
services that are not paid for in the Town of Lincoln budget.
Please contact me if you would like to learn more about this volunteer
project.
Thank you very much,
Cathy Moritz
