In preparation for this year’s State of the Town, we’ve been asking for your
vision of Lincoln in 2050. Here are some ideas people have shared:

“In 2022, large portions of Lincoln were covered in invasive plants that
threatened to take down the trees and starve the wildlife. But we implemented a
long-term plan for ecological restoration that included both regulatory
measures and financial resources so that you would be left with a functioning
landscape.”

“Our town, because of key policy changes required in town governance and
housing and continued DEI [diversity, equity, inclusion] work, is a rich and
diverse representation of all cultures, all races, and all trades and
professions with a continued focus on our farming roots and beautiful open
spaces; keeping its unique physical characteristics but more welcoming and
inclusive to all that the world has to offer.”

“A town with a sense of community rather than a town where people don't know
their neighbors”

“[W]e have a state of the art community center with kitchen and commons that
can be used as an intergenerational gathering place that promotes educational
and cultural learning opportunities…”

"Ability to go anywhere in town, and to all the neighboring towns, safely, by
foot or by bike. Better for our health, better for the planet, fosters
community."

We hope you will share your ideas either at State of the Town or by using the
Google form (or both!). Go to https://forms.gle/JMVHhK2QocUF8Zom8. The Select
Board will keep the form open until the end of November.
