This tragic accident that ended Aureet’s life, happened about eight months before I moved to Lincoln. But, soon after I moved here, I remember hearing about it and that there had been a lot of questions about the rescue effort. Since then, whenever I have walked around Sandy Pond, I always stop and stand quietly at the stone marker and send a silent prayer. But I really never knew who she was nor much of the details until reading this
