Hello all,
I want to first off welcome everyone back from the holiday break. I write to you as the chair of the School Committee’s Superintendent Search Sub-Committee. I am writing with information about listening sessions next week as well as a quick survey for folks to complete. Please complete the survey by Monday Jan 9.
We have set up listening sessions on Jan 11 and 12 in order for Glenn Koocher, our search consultant from the Massachusetts Association for School Committees, to meet with multiple groups of stakeholders in the LS community.
We would like to invite you to join a virtual listening session for families and community members on Thursday Jan 12 at 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88196644684. Students will be informed in a separate email about additional drop-in sessions for current LS students.
The listening sessions are an opportunity for stakeholders to offer their recommendations on areas for growth, development and change; personal skills, characteristics and talents for the next superintendent; and to offer any other thoughts that they would like to contribute to the search process. Responses will be shared with the school committee and the candidates, but people participating will not have names attached to comments.
This survey is being used in conjunction with the listening sessions. It's a quick survey, easy to complete and we believe your responses will be very helpful in the overall process but also helping inform us of your opinions before the listening sessions. Please fill it out by Jan 9.
We want to be sure that you know we are looking forward to the listening sessions and hope the L-S community feels welcome and comfortable with participating in an open and frank discussion of your expectations for the next L-S leader. We are relying on our search consultant, Glenn Koocher, to facilitate an opening to that dialogue and lead the school community through an open and collaborative process, in which this survey is just the beginning.
