Dear neighbors,

As a candidate running for Lincoln School Committee, I have been prompted to
respond to the recent LT discussion about our schools. I am happy to be in a
community that is so invested and engaged in the education of its children.

If elected, I would bring my professional experience and parenting experience
to bear on issues. During my professional tenure analyzing the education
budget in New York City, I learned to rely on comprehensive and audited data
sources for analyses. DESE, MCAS and iready reliable data. However, financial
data and student metrics cannot be understood in the absence of context.
Several posts to Lincoln Talk have provided excellent context for both the cost
data and the student metrics.

This is the third district in which my children have attended school and I am
impressed by the education they are receiving here. I do not think it is
perfect; there is always room for improvement. I am confident that the School
Committee, administrators, and educators are working hard to provide the best
services possible to our students.

I love working with data, looking at best practices and understanding the
broader context in the development of policy positions. I am passionate about
education policy and have a vested interest in educating the next generation.
I can think of no better way to contribute to the community than serving on the
School Committee. I hope you will vote for me.
