Our search for the next superintendent of the Lincoln Public Schools is nearing its conclusion.
We are now in the final stage of the process where our finalists are being interviewed by the School Committee this week. The interviews are not broadcast out of fairness to the candidates going earlier in the week. Recordings of all interviews should be posted on the town video website <https://cloud.castus.tv/vod/lincoln/?page=HOME> by Friday, Feb 3. The School Committee will hold a a special meeting to deliberate and vote on the appointment of our next superintendent Tuesday, Feb 7 at 6pm, which may be watched live at this LINK <https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81976658263>. Many thanks to all who have provided their time and input into this important process. We will post these links again on Friday. This has been a month’s long and thorough process. With the assistance of Dr. John Brackett of the Collins Center for Public Management, the School Committee began compiling community input <https://www.google.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lincnet.org%2Fsite%2Fhandlers%2Ffiledownload.ashx%3Fmoduleinstanceid%3D11408%26dataid%3D26354%26FileName%3DLPS%2520Supt%2520Profile%2520Report%2520final%252011.17.pdf&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AOvVaw0J0rIsBRWQrnND3cTs-LOP> through forums and a survey that has defined the skills, characteristics, and priorities we want our next leader to hold. We carefully selected a representative screening committee to review superintendent applications and select finalists, and this past week our four finalists <https://sites.google.com/lincnet.org/joinlps/superintendent-search> visited our schools and took part in forums with administrators, faculty, and community members. The feedback from those who attended is much appreciated, has been thoroughly reviewed, and we were impressed by the level of participation, in particular from the faculty and staff. Our current District Superintendent Becky McFall announced last October that she would retire at the end of this school year. She was chosen to succeed Mickey Brandmeyer when he retired in 2012.
