And The Exchange is a delightful place to volunteer — two charming hours a week in a fancy place greeting friendly folks of all ages from the after-school crowd buying old fashioned nickel candy to grandmas looking for a unique baby gift to young couples and collectors hunting for treasures among the consignments downstairs. What a wonderful assortment of accoutrements. Yes, the profits from the Old Town Hall Exchange support the maintenance and preservation of the Old Town Hall building, which is owned by a non-profit that was created for that purpose at the time that Henry Ford sought to purchase it, dismantle it, and move it to his "historic" faux-village in Michigan.
