April 11th at 7pm the Lincoln Land Conservation Trust and Lincoln Common Ground
will be hosting a town wide Zoom event to raise awareness about the No Mow May
campaign and to answer questions. Please join us for a wide-ranging
conversation on a topic that we believe will be of interest, and importance, to
this community.

No Mow May is a movement now gaining worldwide momentum. Leaving lawns unmowed,
even for the brief period here proposed, allows flowers to bloom, which, in
turn provides sustenance for bees and other early pollinating insects. This, in
turn. contributes crucially to a healthy ecosystem. The survival of birds,
mammals, amphibians and ultimately people, is interconnected with, and
dependent on, the health and survival of insects. Who knew??!

Delaying the start of mowing season for just a month can make a positive
difference in our local ecology, and by diminishing the use of gas and electric
mowers, will reduce the town’s carbon footprint at the same time.

We look forward to seeing you on April 11th!
