I was going to suggest Paul at Spencer Brook Strings. We bought a violin from him for our daughter and he is incredibly nice and may have options on loans or a violin she could keep. He is very helpful in maintaining instruments as well. Based in Maynard.

I'd give them a try. One of their sponsors is Spencer Brook Strings, and they might have some information if you can't get through to Instrumental Angels.
