Kathy Madison We had good luck with Tick Tubes. They look like empty toilet paper rolls that have been stuffed with pyrethrin-soaked cotton fluff. Part of the deer tick cycle depends on biting a mouse. The mice use the fluff in their nest which kill the ticks on them.
Using tick tubes is less likely to damage the environment than spraying a pesticide.
I covered the whole 1.25 acres of grounds, mostly deep woods, several years ago with tick tubes, placing them about 10 yards apart. We have seen very few tick since.
