*Lincoln250 Logo Contest: Marking Lincoln’s Role in the Events of April
1775*

April 2025 will mark the 250th Anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and
Concord. As included in Donald Hafner’s “The Tales of The Battle Road April
19, 1775” (available at Something Special for $5), "When the alarm went out
on April 19th, the militia and minute men of Lincoln were the first to
arrive in Concord, to aid in defense of American Liberty.” The
recognition of the events along the Battle Road and in the state of
Massachusetts will be the starting point for a year-long series of national
events which will culminate in the celebration of the 250th anniversary of
the signing of the Declaration of Independence in July 2026.

The Lincoln250 Planning Committee, along with community partners and town
committees, is planning multiple historical, educational, and cultural
activities and events that celebrate the stories of the many people
who contributed to the formation of our nation. As we kick off our
planning, one of our first tasks is to develop a logo that will act as the
official emblem of the “Lincoln250” celebration. This logo will be used on
the materials associated with the town events that are organized to mark
the 250th anniversary. We might even use the logo on a celebratory
t-shirt!

*Submission parameters*: Proposed logo should be submitted as a color
rendering of approximately 8” X 10” to allow for easy duplication. The logo
should be simple and a clearly identifiable image. It would be wonderful to
read a brief description of the idea behind the proposed logo if you are
willing to share.

*Where to send submissions:* The Lincoln250 Planning Committee will be
reviewing the submittals and making the decision on the final logo. We ask
that all submissions be emailed to Kim Bodnar at

 by *July 4, 2023*.

*Submission Understanding:* Submission constitutes the individual’s
agreement to allow the use of the logo and also acknowledges that graphic
renderings of the logo may be used for publicity purposes. It is also
understood that no additional payment, monetary or otherwise, will be given.

Thank you!
