Charlie had been in and out of the hospital a bit this year. He left work
for the final time on Thursday, June 29th. When got home he was having
trouble breathing. He called 911. The ambulance arrived quickly but they
lost him in the driveway. By the time the ambulance got him to the hospital
and the ER team was able to bring him back, he had been deprived of oxygen
for over 8 minutes. They put on a ventilator for several days so they
could run some tests. He passed away peacefully on July 3rd. It has been
such a loss for Doherty's. Thank you for your prayers, Hope. Your
description of him is great. I would only add that he was an excellent
mechanic as well.
