Ditto!
Stacy turned the Exchange into a vibrant hub of activity, not only for shopping for great unique items at all price points, but also for creating a great community of volunteers who were always welcoming.

It was the great place to drop in to chat, catch up on the goings on in town, and, yes, even great ( harmless) gossip!

I know COVID turned things upside down and am delighted to hear things are back on track and due to reopen after the usual summer hiatus.

Thanks to all who have kept this important institution going, with special thanks to Stacy  for bringing her heart, talent, expertise and energy to make the OTH the gem we cherish.

Namaste,
Sara

Thank you, Lis! Thank you, Stacy! This is very exciting news! The Town Hall Exchange has definitely been one the places that makes Lincoln such a gem of place to live. My family and I have loved it for over 20 years with Stacy at the helm for many or all of those years, I think. We have missed it, Stacy and the other warm “shop keepers” and of course the penny candy! :)  I can’t wait to see you there soon! Thank you both for all that you are doing to bring it back!
Warm regards, Staci

Hi LT,

I feel it is important to respond to the mischaracterization of Stacy Osur’s long stewardship of both the Old Town Hall and the Exchange and set the record straight. For more than 20 years, more than any other single person in Lincoln — and certainly hour for hour, more than many people combined — Stacy has taken care of management of the building, organized volunteers, and poured a significant part of her time, amounting to thousands of volunteer hours, into running the Exchange. For several years she served as national President of the Federation of Woman’s Exchanges; she managed the fundraising for the Old Town Hall Corporation; dealt with one crisis after another; communicated with vendors and consignors and other non-profits in town to maintain a beloved town institution; and the list goes on and on. If something needed doing there, Stacy did it.

For personal reasons she recently moved out of Lincoln, and while none of that is anybody’s business, I bring it up because she has, out of love for the building and a deep emotional investment in seeing it cared for, undertaken the not-insignificant responsibility for everything listed above, and then some, remotely, as well as dealt with the administrative piece — which is to say the boring bits that few people bother to take into account — of running a store. She still has ties to Lincoln — property and family — and of course to the Exchange, and has devoted more time than many probably realize to upkeep when she is in town. To characterize any of her stewardship as obstruction is unfair — she does, after all, have a significant responsibility as Treasurer.

So I will leave it at that for those of you who are unfamiliar with Stacy and her long stewardship of the Old Town Hall. I hope it helps clarify whatever unpleasantness is out there.

Next Wednesday I will be at the Exchange for the fall opening, and plan to manage the store for the foreseeable future. I’ll be there when it’s open — Tuesday to Friday from noon to 4 — with few exceptions, so if it’s open, you will find me there. Stacy will help me, as she should, at the beginning. I’d love to hear from old and new volunteers. My hope is to see the building buzzing with activity, to make the shop a destination, and to give it a gentle push into the future.

I hope you’ll stop by,

Lis

I will no longer volunteer until there is complete transparency and Stacy’s control is eliminated since she  has been so uncooperative and impedes the operation of the store.
