For years we’ve had that kind of Christmas tree stand where you screw four big
screws into the trunk. It’s always been difficult, and the tree has always
leaned one way or another. Frustrating and not fun. This morning I went to my
favorite place to buy trees this time of year - Seasons Four in Lexington-
cheaper than anywhere else and good quality - and asked for some advice. I
ended up buying a thingum called a “Tree Genie”. It was a bit expensive - about
$100 bucks - but it works like a charm, and we had the tree up and straight in
about three minutes. It has four clamps with a thick wire through them, and you
pull the wire right by pumping a lever with your foot. And the thing is
obviously very well built and worth every t. Thought I’d share with he tip! And
- you’ll see our old base at the swap shed tomorrow! Anne Warner
