The National Trust for Historic Preservation designated Minute Man National Historical Park, Walden and nearby landmarks as one of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places due to the threat of the private luxury jet expansion at Hanscom Airport. Prior years' designations of 11 such places have successfully protected the majority of these national treasures.
 
It was a stirring event, sitting, cold in a tent listening to the speakers, the Old Manse behind them, and occasional tourists walking to and from the Old North Bridge. The speakers were excellent, Douglas Brinkley gave a particularly strong statement in a video shown at the event.
