Visit the Museum this Memorial Day

Did you know that active military and their families receive FREE admission to the Museum throughout the year? Be sure to spread the word to the service men and women in your life.

Our galleries offer so many opportunities to reflect on the long legacy of military service in Concord, beginning all the way back on April 19, 1775. As we honor Memorial Day, we invite you to come visit the Museum and see some of the eyewitness objects that help us keep telling the story of their sacrifices, for generations to come.

Watch the 2024 Memorial Day Forum: Half American

On May 21, Dartmouth College Historian Matthew F. Delmont joined the Museum for a forum on his award-winning new book Half American: The Heroic Story of African Americans Fighting World War II at Home and Abroad. More than one million Black soldiers served in World War II in segregated units while waging a dual battle against inequality in the very country for which they were laying down their lives. Professor Delmont retells the history of the war centering the stories of Black veterans who have long been ignored.

Professor Delmont was joined in conversation by Françoise Hamlin, Associate Professor in History and Africana Studies at Brown University.
