We have a well The water tasted great and was always clear. But, It was incredibly hard. So, we have a whole house backwash filtration system for that, a neutralizer + RO for drinking, cooking and frog. The RO addresses most impurities, taste and also those nasty plastic particulates.
You might just go for RO. There are a variety of ways to install it, and varying costs, so do some research. We have used Friot for over a decade.
