Bird netting can be dangerous for birds and other animals because they can get tangled in it. I have read many articles about this so I hope you could find a different solution. Maybe Irish Spring soap? https://www.americannativeplants.com/deter-deer-garden/#:~:text=Cut%20Irish%20Spring%20Original%20soap,without%20deer%20taking%20a%20bite.

Or try Plantskydd spray or pellets — a lot less work! When you first spray it on, it's a brown liquid but then it clears as it dries.

i usually only have a problem with deer eating my phlox,
so i use tall chicken wire to protect those.

this year deer have taken to repeatedly munching on my cone flowers, asters and sedum --
and i'm NOT happy.

i came up with an easy solution that i'm trying out
and thought i'd share it with you.

take 4 thin, lightweight rod-style garden stakes,
a few spring-style clothespins,
and a piece of black polypropylene bird netting -available at garden centers or on amazon, etc.

cut the netting to fit the plant with extra to drape over the sides.
deer won't be able to nip the plant,
since they feed from above --
and then will avoid it.

the netting is almost invisible to us so it won't be ugly in the garden.

cut the net to fit over the plant.
secure in place with stakes
and clothespins on the stakes.
the plant will still be able to grow,
and the deer won't be able to chomp.

let me know if it works for you.
good luck-
