Do we know what specifically is Cambridge’s issue with a sidewalk?  Is it 
access to their driveway (in which the side walk could have a curb cut) or some 
other liability?    There’s some great ideas here but maybe knowing what the 
resistance is might help with a solution

I agree with all my neighbors that this is a treacherous area for walking or 
biking in all seasons due the the speed of cars and lack of ground space
