Dear Lincoln Residents -- If you love our Library and would like to support its work, please consider volunteering on the board of the Friends of the Lincoln Library as Treasurer. The board is currently comprised of 11 wonderful people, and the Treasurer is one of four officers including President, Vice-President, and Clerk.
It's a pleasure to serve the library, become colleagues with the staff, and learn firsthand about its role and activities in our community. The position mostly involves collecting money received at the Library and from our Annual Appeal, depositing it in the Friends' bank account, and paying our bills. Data is entered to a Quicken application which produces standard financial reports for our meetings (Sept through June). We note that another volunteer writes the thank you notes to our donors. Our long-time Treasurer is stepping down from her post, but will continue to serve on the board while the new Treasurer gets acclimated to the role.
