Lincoln’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is thrilled to be collaborating with the Lincoln250 Committee on their 1775 scavenger hunt <https://padlet.com/jlrg/Lincoln250>.
We have assembled two routes covering all locations of the hunt, one for folks on bikes, the other for those on foot. The routes are designed to guide you from one historic site to another using the town’s conservation trails wherever possible. Each route enables the user to locate all of the historic sites without using a car, at a pace and on a path a bit more like back then. And in one day if you are ambitious. Both routes are part of a “Ride with GPS Experience” that is intended to be used on a smartphone. The Lincoln250 Experience on Ride with GPS <https://ridewithgps.com/experiences/27659?app_code=LINCOLN250> includes an introduction to the scavenger hunt, instructions to participate, and other important information. Starting in the Mall parking lot, each route map is shown on the phone screen. Turn-by-turn “cues” are available both on the screen and audibly. In addition, special cues announce when you arrive in the general location of each historic site and indicate what you have to find. At that point, you grab your phone and follow the instructions on the Lincoln250 signs that mark what you are seeking. All this is done by downloading one phone app and following simple instructions. No account required. Access the Lincoln250 Experience as follows: Or follow this link <https://ridewithgps.com/experiences/27659?app_code=LINCOLN250>. Send any questions to BPAC at this address <mailto:[email protected]>. We hope you enjoy the Lincoln250 Experience! Stay tuned for news about a special BPAC event where you will complete the bike route in an afternoon. We wish you safe walking and biking, Lincoln BPAC
