Hi all - just a reminder that we have our second session of cemetery monument
restoration tomorrow, Saturday, October 5 from 10:00-3:00. We will be at the
Arbor Vitae cemetery. This is the triangular cemetery that is at the corner of
Trapelo Rd and Lexington Road. TaMara Conde, our professional gravestone
conservator, will join us again, to provide training and then assist with our
efforts. Honestly, it is a fun and informative day. Please consider joining
us tomorrow, Oct 5, for any amount of time you can spare. No amount of time
you can volunteer is too little.

Last weekend we had about 18 volunteers who cleaned and restored about 20-25
cemetery stones and we had Lincoln residents, Lincoln Boy Scouts, Minutemen
and LS students. It is a terrific way to spend some time and it is
tremendously rewarding and satisfying to bring these beautiful, hand carved,
250 year old historic stones back to their former glory. I hope someday (in
the far far distant future) we will have other volunteers take care of our
final resting place.

Thank you,

Valerie

Subject: Volunteers needed for Cemetery Restoration Project

Hi all - please see the attached flyer for a wonderful opportunity to help
ready our three cemeteries for Lincoln's 250th celebration.

We will be working on cemetery restoration work the next three Saturdays. It
is not an arduous chore at all; in fact it is a fun and informative way to
beautify (even more) our cemeteries and you will leave with new skills and a
renewed appreciation for our burial grounds. As an added benefit, you will be
able to point out to family and friends the one, two or three headstones that
you restored. Your friends and relatives will be envious, and "your" restored
stone(s) will be on display for many years to come!

All the best,

Valerie Fox, CMMC, MMC
