Leaves harbor and sustain insects, which in turn sustain birds and other
critters.
Leaves protect and nurture the soil and the plants that grow there.
Leaving leaves means using less fossil fuels – an essential response to the
climate crisis.
Leaves are beautiful!
We also think about sheet mulching as a way to get started with our habitat
gardens.
Fall is a great time to plant native plants that support diverse habitats.
Fall is a great time to plant native seeds.
And, as always, we never stop thinking about composting! - an easy way to give
back.
