The Community Center Building Committee (CCBC) has been busy working since we have last emailed you! We provided a full update at the State of the Town (STOTT) on December 7 2024. We provided four-page handout which is now posted on the CCBC web site. In addition, ICON Architecture gave a 10 minute overview, using multiple computer renderings, to provide a detailed picture of both the outside and inside of the building from a visitor perspective.
The CCBC met on December 18, 2024 in the Hartwell Multipurpose Room. The town’s Owners Project Manager from Anser Advisory/Accenture, Kseniya Slavsky, presented a budget plan which detailed “The Road Ahead”. We reviewed how much funding is committed to date, discussed the hard and soft costs, estimated cash flow, and the very detailed budget. The take home message is that, at this meeting, the project is on budget and on time. The CCBC is also preparing for the new school maintenance shop to be built in the Hartwell Administration Building (also included in the CCBC budget). Its current location is B Pod. The maintenance shop and Strats rehabilitation are both expected to be completed before other construction is started mid 2025. At the December meeting ICON Architecture presented the construction documents for the renovation of the maintenance shop and its move to its new location in the Hartwell building. We have a hybrid meeting scheduled, Wednesday Jan 22 at 7pm at the Donaldson Room, which we invite the public to join. The committee will be receiving updates from our OPM and ICON. We will be focusing on our schedule and budget overview of the project, an overview of the maintenance shop, update of the permitting schedule, solar panel analysis, and other administrative tasks.
