If you’ve found yourself questioning where you stand regarding the conversation about antisemitism in Lincoln, if you find yourself confused why some people seem to think some things are antisemetic while others don’t, or you simply care about history and want to learn more about the rise of antisemitism in our backyard, here is an opportunity to learn. Can be attended both in person and over livestream.

Dear Friends,

I am writing to remind you that our upcoming event to honor International Holocaust Remembrance Day will take place this Sunday, January 26th. Dr. Charles Gallagher, S.J., will give a lecture entitled “How Antisemitism Grows: Lessons from Boston’s 1930’s Nazi Movement.” Author of the acclaimed book The Nazis of Copley Square: The Forgotten Story of the Christian Front, Dr. Gallagher will present his new research on the rise of the Nazi movement in Boston and New York before, during, and after World War II. A panel discussion featuring Rob Leikind of AJC New England will follow, exploring connections between this past and growing antisemitism and extremism today.

The lecture will take place at 5pm at Boston University Hillel (213 Bay State Road), with a reception to follow. It will be live-streamed, although we encourage you to attend in person if possible. Registration is required for both in person and for streaming. When attending, please do not bring large bags, and note that bags will be inspected at the door.

This event is co-sponsored by the Jewish Cultural Endowment and AJC New England.

In these current times, when antisemitism has once again grown prevalent in American politics and society, Gallagher’s work is an important call to confront dangerous extremism. Please join us this weekend for a discussion on a topic that affects us so strongly today.

All best,
