Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend depending on uber in rural areas like ours. When reserving an uber in advance, they don’t actually book a specific driver yet - the app waits till the time you “reserved” and then automatically starts searching for you a driver, and if there are no drivers in the area at that time, then there is no one to accept it. And there aren’t always drivers in our area early in the morning or late at night. 

I have run into this issue before. The reserve in advance feature is kind of pointless.

Uber showed up early, and as we were moving bags to the outside step, it took off!
It left had been waiting 5 minutes, and left at exactly the time we had booked.
Luckily, another was within 5 minutes away so and, given the hour and that it was Sat., there was no issue with arriving on time.

I used to use Uber, but they have now stranded me twice on early morning rides to Logan after I set a reservation the day before. Now I book a taxi service.
