LINCOLN PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (LPTO)

Lincoln Town Election Candidate Forum
March 25, 2025
7:00-9:00pm / Learning Commons, Lincoln Public Schools

[Lincoln Town Election: Monday, March 31, 2025]
* Current planning entails recording of this forum for subsequent posting
on www.lincolntown.org.

*Logistical Guidelines*
* If arriving via car, feel free to park in the Smith lot or in any of the
available spaces close to the Main Entrance. Please enter via the set of
doors closest to the parking lot adjacent to the Smith lot, or the set of
doors at the Main Entrance.
* Upon arrival, please stop at the LPTO table in the Lobby of the Learning
Commons to get questions sheets and a pencil.

*Campaigning Guidelines*
* Candidates will have the option to place campaign materials for public
distribution on a LPTO-designated table in the back of the Learning Commons
during this event.
* During the Candidate Forum itself, Candidates are asked to please refrain
from campaign speeches or speechifying, as the event is intended as an
information session and meet-and-greet whereby Voters can get acquainted
with Candidates and their views, not be persuaded or pressured to vote for
one Candidate over another.

*Forum Guidelines*
* The purpose of this Candidate Forum is to create an opportunity for
Candidates to introduce themselves, and for Voters to get acquainted with
Candidates' views and stances via the Introductions round as well as a
subsequent Question & Answer portion. This event is intended to foster
greater overall collective understanding as a community, not result in
increased competition among Candidates.
* This Candidate Forum is not intended as a debate, and Candidates are
asked to please refrain from laterally addressing or referring to fellow
Candidates on the panel.
* During the Introductions round, Candidates will be invited to Introduce
themselves within 2 minutes or less. All Candidates are strongly requested
to honor equitable and balanced airtime during this portion of the forum by
please honoring this 2-minutes-or-less guideline. We will have a clock
available to check timing.
* Audience members will be invited to join in a collective round of
applause for all the Candidates at the beginning of the Introductions
round, as well as at the conclusion of the Introductions round.
Accordingly, audience members will be asked to please refrain from cheering
for (an) individual Candidate(s) during the Introductions round of the
forum.
* Following the Introductions round, the Moderators will pose questions to
Candidates from cards originated from the Audience members. Candidates are
asked to please address the Audience in providing responses, not fellow
Candidates on the panel.
* Audience members will be asked to pose questions that apply to all
Candidates in a race, not questions that are addressed to an individual
Candidate.
* During the Question & Answer portion, Candidates are asked to provide
responses to Audience members that do not exceed 2 minutes. The honoring
of this guideline will encourage greater opportunity to hear more questions
from more Voters, more questions for more Candidates, greater potential
air-time for all Candidates, and greater engagement for all attendees by
the conclusion of the evening.

*Many Thanks to All in the honoring of these guidelines! *
