I'm a 62 year old male professional musician (BSO, Boston Pops, Club d'Elf, local world and jazz groups) seeking either an independent (ideal) or shared living situation, preferably in the Boston/Cambridge area or a nearby suburb. [The right place is more important than other factors, and I am flexible regarding location.] I have deep ties to the local farm community (25+ years working at Lindentree Farm in Lincoln) and a commitment to green, sustainable living. I'm into cooking, Qigong, music (obviously), being in nature, mindfulness, travel (I'm away a fair amount) and the good things in life. I’m spiritual but not dogmatic. I like to create and maintain a clean, peaceful, and aesthetic home. I am responsible, clean up after myself and am conscious of the needs of those around me and appreciate those qualities in those I live with. I like to have a good time, but not at the expense of others. I’m not overly political but definitely pretty left of center.
I can afford up to $1500/mo and would be open to bartering towards rent by helping with farm, yard or other kinds of work, giving music lessons, or helping with elder care. I’m flexible regarding a start date but ideally would be between 5/1 - 7/1, and hoping for something long term.
While I prefer to live alone, I’m open to a housemate situation with someone interesting, quiet, considerate, respectful & financially stable. (And sorry, but no cigarette smokers.) I don’t need a housemate to be my best friend but I do want someone I am compatible with and good communication skills are a must. It’s nice to share a meal occasionally, but I value independence and look for housemates who do as well.
