The CDC is, for the time being, still good source of info.
Also, the NIH, with regard to tick bite diseases.
A lesser know tick -born disease, with symptoms that do not mimic the other
diseases, is ALPH GAL.
It is an autoimmune response that can trigger, at a minimum hives and itching
and swelling of the mouth, lips and tongue, or anaphylactic shock.
This one is perhaps more serious than the others as it is lesser known, and it
is chronic.

I have APHA Gal so ticks are a very serious concern in this household.
I have blood work done every 6 months to monitor the level of disease.
We use all the usual precautions with regard to clothing and DEET.
We remove leaves and mulch around the house as they are fabulous breeding
grounds for ticks.
We groom our dog regularly.
We check ourselves and the dog daily.
We also spray the property -Pure Solutions does the spraying.
The spraying dramatically reduces the tick population, but does not eliminate
it entirely.

Good luck!
