Dear Lincoln Talkers, Just a last reminder that Massachusetts-based author and preservationist, Lee McColgan, will be speaking in the Learning Commons at Lincoln Public School (6 Ballfield Rd., Lincoln) TOMORROW, Thursday, May 15 from 6:30 - 7:30pm. McColgan has worked on Boston's Old North Church, Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House, and other buildings.
In his book, *A House Restored*, McColgan tells of restoring his 1704 colonial home in Pembroke, Massachusetts using period techniques and tools. To acquire the necessary skills, he interned with, and learned from, plasterers, carpenters, and other tradespeople. He also used good old trial and error. McColgan will share his experiences in historical home preservation and advocacy and participate in a Q&A session. Copies of his book will be available, and there will be light refreshments.
