We had to clear-cut a fairly large area for a new septic system. Took down 32
mature trees. I am experimenting with letting this meadow fill in with what
ever the wind blows in. I often find that plants such as native wild
strawberry, enchanters nightshade, and Celidine poppy just appear if I don’t
over-mulch. Anyway, I plan to scan for invasives once a week and hope that
native pollinator-friendly plants will move in. I already have a lot of golden
rod. It’s cheaper than buying plants. Wish me luck!
