Yahoo, Gmail, etc. are frequently tightening their spam traps and updating
their algorithms, and Yahoo made a significant change at the end of
August. With the introduction of AI into the inbox as well, they have been
testing prioritizing relevance over recency for email ordering. (I oversee
the email team at my company and we are constantly trying to stay ahead of
and react to these types of changes).

In addition to Margit's suggestions, here are a few other tips to keep LT
showing up in your primary inbox:

For Yahoo:

   - If you see the messages in "Spam" or "Newsletters" (Yahoo), click on
the checkbox next to the message, and "move to -> inbox" or click on the
"more" icon and select "this is not spam".
   - Alternatively, you can create a filter. Go to Settings > More Settings
   > Filters, and then add a new filter. Set the rule to have emails "From
contains" the sender's email address ([email protected]) and move
   them to the "Primary" folder.
   - Add [email protected] to your contacts. Typically, replying to
[email protected] should do this automatically.
   - You can revert to the original version of your Yahoo inbox
(pre-August) by going to the settings and select "switch to classic mail"
   or "switch to basic mail"

For Gmail:

   - Similarly, for Gmail messages in "Spam" or "Promotions", drag them
back into the inbox, and select "Yes" for future messages.
Or, on a desktop, you can create a filter by finding an email from the
sender, clicking the three-dots menu, and selecting "Filter messages like
this" to categorize it as Primary.
   - Mark the messages as important using the little icon next to the star
at the left of the message.
   - Add [email protected] to your contacts. Typically, replying to
[email protected] should do this automatically.

Forward directly to a friend or neighbor if they aren't getting LT messages
already!

Hope this helps!

Subject: [LincolnTalk] Yahoo issues - again
Hiya LT.

Several people who have @yahoo email addresses have reached out to ask why
they are no longer seeing anything from LT.

This happens from time to time - with yahoo, aol, other email services.
They decide emails coming from LincolnTalk aren't safe and sideline them.
There is nothing we can do on our end to address this.

Sometimes, if you make LincolnTalk a contact, that solves the problem. I'm
not sure what folks have done in the past, but I know a couple have had to
reach-out to their providers.

If you use Yahoo and are still getting emails via LT, know that this could
change. The moderators are addressing individual concerns as they come
in... obviously, if people aren't getting LT, they won't see this.

Yours,
Margit
