I have an old central air conditioner and water heater I need to properly dispose of. I can find a lot of companies who will offer to come and pick it up, but it seems like most of what I'm paying for is for someone to drive to me, load it in the truck, and drive it somewhere else. I'm happy to rent a truck and load the items myself, but where does one go to actually properly dispose of these things?
