We had the same problem. We live in a townhouse condo in Farrar Pond
Village. Comcast recently installed a new modem which promised faster wi-fi
speeds, which it delivered on. The modem/router is in the office on the 2nd
floor. When the tech went into the basement he had a fit when he saw all the
ductwork and pipes. He strongly suggested an

Unfortunately, I did not buy it while it was on sale for $100 off. Instead,
I bought a TP-Link BE3200 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender. Comcast wants $15/month to
rent one. It took me quite a while to find the one electric outlet on the
1st floor that gave me a useable signal to the spot in the basement where I
use wi-fi. If you cannot do the same, you should try a mesh system before
you pay an electrician to run a hard wire.
