The TonePort transmits the same signal on the left and right channels, but with largely different amplification. So if you hear a noisy signal in the right channel, try to move the balance entirely to the left side, where you might have the clear signal, which simply could not have been heard while the right channel was active. You can also use the monitor control in a mixer application to adjust the volume of the guitar signal.
