I have a pretty big bunch of director text (an XML file with possible funky/multi-byte characters) that needs to be written to disk as Unicode UTF8 text.

Currently we're putting the text into Flash in order to get the unicode integer of each character and then doing division/mod to convert that to bytes to write via binary Xtra.

What is the sane way to do this?
