Hello All, I have just created a simple test in attempting to isolate a problem in which a LocalConnection stops working. Scenario as follows: (Tested on DMX 2004 10.1 and Windows XP; no flash sprites, only the newObject method described by Thomas Higgins earlier this year) 1) a projector based project starts a connection from an object created by the stage window 2) the projector opens a MIAW from an object in the stage window 3) start another project in Director that creates a connection to the LocalConnection object created by the projector 4) call using LocalConnection from the Director object to the projector object without problem. 5) call using LocalConnection also works from the projector to Director 6) the projector forgets the MIAW from an object in the stage window 7) call using LocalConnection from Director to projector fails (onStatus handler information object level parameter is "error") In summary, forgetting a MIAW appears to kill LocalConnections in the projector that launched the MIA. Note: the MIAW used in the test has only one frame behavior to loop on a frame, no other code. It didn't create the LocalConnection. If these results are true, then LocalConnection is practically worthless in any sort of sophisticated, MIAW based application (and a big headache to debug!). Anyone else have experience with this? I can make my demonstration movies available later this afternoon. Regards, Daniel

Dear Tom,
Back in April you posted the response below that I saved at the time because I knew I'd need it later. The later is now, and I'm writing with a quick question: has anything happened in this area between April and now? Was another technote or sample added perhaps? Has it been written up in one of the new books on D MX? Thanks,
Slava
