I have a nice flash animation which I wanted to include in a Director dxr (this one will be called by a stub projector). Problem is, as you know, the speed decreases too much.
depends on whether they were written and tweaked well to work together, or if the flash was written first without any knowledge about how to make it playback well in Director.
My idea is show an HTML page with the flash embedded in it, so I hope the speed will be determined by the browser, not the director engine.

So you're launching a browser, or embedding it in Diretor? I don't think embedding will speed anything up...
