a little research makes me believe that <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED] might work to circumvent that autoresponder he set on his subscribed addie.

The more professional approach would be to try to contact the person directly with detailed instructions about how to remove their account. Approach them with peace and loving kindness.
