So it seems to be IE related... Still weird though , Shockwaves which gave me problems before now don't crash. Maybe I should try using some Javascript to open up a fresh window and load it in there on a refresh.

Doesn't crash for me! I refreshed and shift+refreshed and it reloaded fine: IE 6 WinXP Pro SP2 custom built desktop PC.
