Hey Julian,
If you have the that actual qtvr file there are all sorts of lingo commands
avaliable to control them.
Look here -
http://www.macromedia.com/support/director/lingo/Qtvr/Qtvr06.html
There ae entire manuals that can be found on the web discussing this topic.
As far as rolling your own QTVR engine...I also remember folks talking about
it but I have no idea where they managed to get to...Did you check the
mile-high table o' products at updatestage?
http://www.updatestage.com/products_table.html
I think the qtvr stuff might be old and I've created pretty robust apps
without over using a 3rd party xtra - other than the Apple QTVR Xtra that
is...
Good luck.
Bryan

Subject: <lingo-l> qtvr + flash workarounds
Date: Wed, 8 Jun 2005 16:38:24 +0100
hi,
i have a flash map with hotspots that launch qtvr files in mx 2004. the
flash is then overlaid with a bitmap quad that represents the pan and
viewing angle of the qtvr.
i am overlaying the flash with a captured image to avoid the qtvr/flash
flickering but can't get the hotspots via hittest as the entire map is also
a button.
is there another way to get at the flash buttons without recoding the
flash?
or a way around combining the qt and flash without flickering?
i recall someone was coding a lingo version of qtvr a while back...
thanks
Julian
