This issue will crash your computer, and the crash is cross-platform. Recompressing the files so as not to use B-frames fixes the problem.
There is another issue with Sorenson-compressed files, and that is that sound stops. There's a tech note about it, <http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19296> which is wrong in a number of respects. The tech note states that the issue is new to DMX 2K4, but I reported it during either the Director 7 or 8 time frame. MACR couldn't replicate it, so I flew out to SF and demoed it to an engineer named Jenny. Also, the tech note says it a SV3 issue, but I've seen it happen sometimes with SV2, as well.
