Wow, that's evil! I hate when people reset my color depth. Did you
try going into the director movie, and changing the 8 to a 32, and
then running it? If director did it in the first place, maybe
director can undo it.

I played an old demo movie that was made for Director 5 or 6 and it
had the
following code:
on startMovie
global oldDepth
if the colordepth <> 8 then
set oldDepth = the colordepth
set the colordepth = 8 -- for palette operations
end if
end
It messed up all the colors of my system (Windows XP - Pentium 2.4 GHZ
Intel). So afterwards I reset my settings manually to 32 bit color,
and it
helped partially, but all my programs still open up in black and
white only.
Even Director and Photoshop and Outlook Express all appear in black
and
white. I can see pictures and movies in color, but the actual programs
appear in black and white. For example, in Photoshop I can't
distinguish
between the layers in a picture, they all appear black and white. I
restarted my system, and even closed the computer over night but
nothing
helps. Does anyone have any ideas?? (I can send a screen shot if
anyone
wants to see what I mean).
Thanks!!
