Believe me, I realize the pain induced by the level of auto-formatting for JS in the Script window (or rather the lack thereof). The only auto-formatting applied is that when you hit return to start a new line it will use the same indenting as the previous line, that's it. No formatting when you hit the Tab key, nothing... It's a big outstanding work item (among others) left to truly make JS syntax users feel more at home.
