Ladies and Gents,
I am at my wits end with a DVD problem and I hope someone may have run into
this.
I am getting a DirectShow error on Windows any time I try to play a dual
layer (DVD9) ROM-hybrid. All I see in Director is the number, but I found
the number on the Microsoft Web site.
-2147220871 VFW_E_DVD_GRAPHNOTREADY DVD-Video playback graph has
not been built yet.
Here are my diagnostic steps:
1) All my Windows software is up to date, including a current update of
DirectX.
2) DVD-Video works correctly in a set top player, and it works correctly in
a the computer DVD players, verifying that the DirectShow configuration does
not have corrupted codecs, or other issues that I've read so much about.
3) All ROM features other than video access work (irrelevant)
4) Everything works perfectly on a Mac. This is mostly irrelevant, but
potentially useful in that the DVD access Lingo itself seems to be fine.
** and here's the rub...
5) Everything works with the Visible Light OnStage DVD Xtra. Since this is
an example of another Xtra using DirectShow to play back DVD content, this
seems to verify that something is going haywire at some point between the
DVD Asset Xtra and DirectShow.
Based on the error ("DVD-Video playback graph has not been built yet.",
whatever that means), is there some initialization, or "pre-initialization"
step that I can take to get around this?
I am open to all suggestions!
Rich
