I tend to feel as if sitting in a repeat loop like this is a bit "dangerous" on either platform and that using a timeout/frame driven process would be far more optimal if you can manage that. Unfortunately I'm also feeling a tad surprised that you're not getting any form of a stage update at the moment, but I'm away from the office this week and only have my Win laptop with me on the road so I can't do my own test to confirm/deny that behavior on my end.
Can you restructure that so instead of sitting in a repeat loop you use a timeout/frame driven process instead? Just an initial thought for now in the wake of not having a Mac handy...
