Hmm... you get the same script error with my other example, x =
numToChar(null). It's odd that it works in the message window. Or maybe
not that odd--I'm not too worried about inconsistencies in the message
window.

Umm.. yes. Actually, I pointed that out a couple weeks ago, launching
the fatal thread ^_^
